Birgitta festival The first music theatre festival in the historical ruins of Pirita (Saint Birgitta) Convent was held in 2005. For today, the artistic ambitions of the festival reach to the praised status of the symbolic music event both in the cultural life of Tallinn and Baltic region. Festival focuses on the music theatre with program emphasising the spirituality of the historical convent. The festival has presented the performances of choirs, various ensembles and even puppet theatre, ballet performances, productions of Orff's "Carmina burana", Verdi's "Requiem", Poulenc's "Les Dialogues des Carmelites", Gounod's "Faust", Britten's "Albert Herring", Weill's "Sieben Todsünden" to name but a few.
