On October 16–18, 2026, Pärnu will host the 16th International Kannel Festival and the 6th Small Kannel Festival, bringing together kantele players, teachers, instrument makers, and music lovers from Estonia and abroad. Over the course of three days, kannel music will be performed at various venues throughout Pärnu—Ammende Villa, Pärnu Eliisabet Church, Wunderbaar, Sütevaka Humanitarian Gymnasium, Sonne Café, and the Pärnu Concert Hall. The festival program combines traditional and contemporary kannel music, offering concerts, workshops, group performances, a dance club, and meet-and-greets with instrument makers.
